Gregory
Pickett, D.O., recently joined Southwest Orthopedics in
Altus. His practice is located in the Surgical Arts
Building at 304 South Park Lane.
A 2002
graduate of the Oklahoma State University College of
Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Pickett spent the last five
years completing an orthopedic surgery residency in Kansas
City, Missouri.
He is a
member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic
Surgeons, The Jackson County Osteopathic Society, Sports
Medicine Club, Oklahoma Osteopathic Association, and the
American Osteopathic Association. Pickett earned his
undergraduate degree in microbiology from The University of
Oklahoma in Norman in 1997.
His
practice specializes in general orthopedics including
pediatrics, sports medicine, fracture care, total joint
replacement, hand surgery, foot and ankle surgery and
arthroscopic surgeries.
Returning home is a fulfillment to Pickett and his family.
“I’ve always wanted to practice in my home town.” “With
mine and my wife’s family in Altus, it is where we want to
raise our children,” stated Pickett. “I am looking forward
to establishing my practice in Altus and to care for people
in southwest Oklahoma and north Texas.”
Pickett
is a native of Altus, graduating from Altus High School in
1993. He was the second medical student recipient of the
Mac Mollison Scholarship from the Jackson County Memorial
Hospital Foundation in 2000. Pickett is married to the
former Kim Roudebush of Altus. They have three children
Carson, Mason and Hailey. Pickett’s parents are David and
Karen Pickett of Altus and his wife’s parents are Robert and
Pam Roudebush of Altus.
