COUNSELORS BRING EXPERIENCE AND COMPASSION TO PATIENTS

The Jackson County Memorial Hospital Counseling Center at 1200 East Tamarack Road in Altus announces the addition of Stanley Mitchell and Kim Wright to its staff of licensed clinical social workers.

Mitchell is a graduate of Florida State University with a Master’s degree in social work; he is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).  His experience in the health care field includes acute and chronically ill patients and clients in both the inpatient and outpatients settings.

His career began at an Oklahoma City ministry serving American Indian families.  He continued by graduating from Southwestern Theological Baptist Seminary with a master’s degree in religious education with a concentration in social work. He worked for over nine years providing grief and loss counseling with a hospice organization.

On staff at the JCMH Counseling Center, Mitchell provides individual and family counseling specializing in grief and loss, life adjustment issues, minor anxiety and depression and spiritual issues.

“My journey toward counseling actually began 28 years before I received my master’s in social work degree,” explained Mitchell.  “God was preparing me for what I am now doing.”  “I am glad to be here in Altus; I know I can help a lot of people here.”

Kim Wright graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science degree in social work.  She received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Kansas. Originally from South Dakota, she has a grown son who lives in New Hampshire.

Wright has worked in both public and private agencies in several states.  Her clinical experience includes therapeutic treatment of adults and children in outpatient and hospital settings.  She is experienced in family therapy and for several years facilitated an inpatient and partial hospitalization program for individuals with eating disorders.  She has significant training and experience in the treatment of sexual abuse.

“Jackson County Memorial Hospital and the Counseling Center has provided me a wonderful opportunity to work with people and families in southwest Oklahoma,” stated Wright.

Wright is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and maintains licenses in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.  She provides family and individual therapy for people of all ages.  She enjoys providing informational presentations and speaking engagements.

For appointments with Stanley Mitchell, Kim Wright or any of the licensed professionals, call 580-482-4095.  The Jackson County Memorial Hospital Counseling Center is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas.  The Counseling Center offers treatment services designed to strengthen social, marital and family relationships.
