The Jackson County Memorial Hospital
Counseling Center at 1200 East Tamarack Road in Altus
announces the addition of Stanley Mitchell and Kim Wright to
its staff of licensed clinical social workers.
Mitchell is a graduate of Florida State
University with a Master’s degree in social work; he is a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). His experience in
the health care field includes acute and chronically ill
patients and clients in both the inpatient and outpatients
settings.
His career began at an Oklahoma City
ministry serving American Indian families. He continued by
graduating from Southwestern Theological Baptist Seminary
with a master’s degree in religious education with a
concentration in social work. He worked for over nine years
providing grief and loss counseling with a hospice
organization.
On staff at the JCMH Counseling
Center, Mitchell provides individual and family counseling
specializing in grief and loss, life adjustment issues,
minor anxiety and depression and spiritual issues.
“My journey toward counseling actually
began 28 years before I received my master’s in social work
degree,” explained Mitchell. “God was preparing me for what
I am now doing.” “I am glad to be here in Altus; I know I
can help a lot of people here.”
Kim Wright graduated from the
University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science degree
in social work. She received her master’s degree in social
work from the University of Kansas. Originally from South
Dakota, she has a grown son who lives in New Hampshire.
Wright has worked in both public and
private agencies in several states. Her clinical experience
includes therapeutic treatment of adults and children in
outpatient and hospital settings. She is experienced in
family therapy and for several years facilitated an
inpatient and partial hospitalization program for
individuals with eating disorders. She has significant
training and experience in the treatment of sexual abuse.
“Jackson County Memorial Hospital and
the Counseling Center has provided me a wonderful
opportunity to work with people and families in southwest
Oklahoma,” stated Wright.
Wright is a Licensed Clinical Social
Worker and maintains licenses in Missouri, Kansas and
Oklahoma. She provides family and individual therapy for
people of all ages. She enjoys providing informational
presentations and speaking engagements.
